On Monday the 28th of March 2016, Easter Monday, we will gather to remember the 1916 Rising in County Wexford. The commemorations will take place at Enniscorthy, the centre of Wexford’s Rising, in the shadow of Vinegar Hill. The Defence Forces will direct proceedings of a state ceremony in remembrance of those who took part. All are welcome to attend.
Full program of events for Easter Monday
As well as the state ceremony, Easter Monday in Enniscorthy will feature a parade through the town, 1916 songs and poems, a battle reenactment, and the Promenade Festival. Commemorative events begin at 10:00am and conclude around 3:15pm.
